Standout Safaris
Standout Adventures is happy to provide game drives, bird watching tours, and accomodation suggestions seperately or in conjunction with our trekking tours. Safaris can be tailored to suit your length of stay or budget. Accomodations are at least three star rated unless indicated otherwise and include full board.
Safaris can be designed to feature only one park, or in combination of all places listed.
Amboseli National Park
This safari in Southern Kenya offers superb views of Kilimanjaro and the chance to see a large number of great animals. Great numbers of Elephants are found here as well as Water Buffalo, Hippopotamus, Monkeys, Wildebeest, Lions, and others. The park is a exciting and visually stunning landscape with dry sandy lake beds that transition into lush green water ponds that attract the wildlife during feeding.
Accomodations are located outside of the Park and offer a great setting for an evening sundowner or a relaxing day of rest after your climb or game drive.
Samburu Game Reserve
Located in the semi-arid northern ecosystem of Kenya, Samburu is an ideal setting for game drives. Probably most well known as a great habitat of the big cats, Samburu is also home to Elephants, and a huge range of birds. This park is also located within minutes of traditional Rendelle and Samburu tribal lands where visitors can meet these wonderful people who still live totally from the land - even in such harsh climatic conditions as the desert like areas around Samburu.
Accomodations are located inside of the Park and offer some very unique opportunities for game spotting, including an elephant camp where you may wake to the sound of a wild elephant grazing just outside your tent.
Bird Watchers Tour
This safari package takes guests to Lake Nakuru National Park to see the multitude of Pink Flamingos that make the shores of the lake their temporary home. Truly a spectacle to witness, the lake edges become totally pink when the birds chance to congregate here.
When the flamingos are not to be found there are still thousands of pelicans, king fishers, lesser flamingos, eagles, and more to be seen. One of Kenya's most well known safari locations, Lake Nakuru provides a gorgeous setting for birding.
Rhino Tour
Solio Game Reserve in central Kenya is home to the largest population of black and white rhinos on earth. These animals have been hunted and slaughtered nearly to extinction for their horns. Solio has almost single-handedly saved this species from its nearly inevitable demise.
Also found in this large, private reserve are monkeys, antelope - including the a species of indigenous Hartebeest, zebra, buffalo, giraffe, and lions too. The real treasure though is the rhinos of course, as well as the setting of the reserve which faces the green slopes and snowy peaks of Mt. Kenya's northwest face. |
