Sirimon Route: 4 days trek
This trek begins from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) gate at Sirimon where you will often see baboons running through the trees and across the grass field in front of the office. Elephants are sometimes spotted here as well. This route affords hikers with adequate acclimatization time for each day's ascent toward the peak. The first night is spent in the Old Moses camp situated at 3000m. The following two nights are spent at the base of Mt. Kenya's three highest peaks: Battion, Nellion, and Pt. Lenana - the highest point available without the use of ropes and technical climbing protection. Hikers will return to the gate along the same route as coming up.
